We’ve created this website to inform heating engineers about available schemes, inspire them to participate, and help them make the right decision by providing a comprehensive list of options and essential details.

Start at Home schemes are a valuable way for heating engineers to build confidence and experience with heat pump installations. These schemes can also help engineers improve their customer service, credibility and heat pump sales. This is vital as heat pump demand continues to grow and the UK works towards its heat pump and net-zero emission targets.

About Nesta

Nesta is the UK's not-for-profit innovation agency for social good. It designs, tests and scales new solutions to society’s biggest problems, changing millions of lives for the better.

As one of its main missions, Nesta works to accelerate the decarbonisation of household activities in the UK. Our goal is that, by 2030, the UK will have reduced household carbon emissions by 28% compared to 2019 levels, and that we are on track to reach net zero by 2048.

We believe a crucial element of home decarbonisation is transitioning home heating from gas or oil boilers to heat pumps. We want to ensure heating engineers are supported through this transition and are able to expand their business to work with heat pumps.
